Going to try and Document things

Not sure how well this will work,
but I figured I can keep a nice journal of the process of building, and then living (or dying) in a straw bale vehicle in the far north of Canada.
I’m set up on a friends land in Bear Creek, just outside of Dawson City, Yukon.
Thanks Cat!

  1. Get that K outta my name, ya big jerk!

Good luck this winter, maybe I will drop by to check it out in person. :) Don’t forget to write The Grind an article!

  2. I’m sure that you will have plenty of people to text and talk with, but super curious on how things go. Good luck.
PS how often will you go into town? How far are you away from other folks? Did you bring beer, alcohol or weed with you? Dog food?

    1. Hi Lemelle!
I am living in Bear Creek (11Km outside of Dawson City, Yukon)
I have really wonderful neighbours and other folks who live around the area.

  3. Wow. Where were you when I was young and available? Congrats to your independent spirit, can-do attitude, and inventive mind. The old man and I went off the grid four years ago; the “poor folks” way, no expensive wind turbines or pricey solar tracking devices here; so I have a small idea of your grit, determination, and downright guts. Best wishes to you!

    1. Hi Tammy!
      hah :)
I was probably busy being an angry teenager when you were “Young and Available”.
Thanks for the nice words, I am very excited to start work on a proper off the grid house this spring, this van idea was just a jump in and see if it could work before winter hits kind of a thing.
I really enjoy experiencing the elements in ways that make you appreciate what you have or don’t have. Best wishes to you and your “old man” as well. <3
